Classroom Laptop Use Guidelines

  1. Begin class with your laptop closed,to the side of your workspace, and accessible.
  2. Laptops are only to be opened and used according to teacher direction.
  3. Always have traditional classroom supplies ready to use at the start of class.
  4. When a computer is required during groupwork, only one laptop may be used per group.
  5. Once time for a task begins, you must be well underway shortly after opening your laptop.
  6. When time for a task is completed, be ready to show the work you accomplished.
  7. Be prepared for a "Hands-Off!" command by the teacher at any timer. When "Hands-Off!" is called, any further touch of the keyboard or mouse is an automatic assumption of guilt.
  8. Be prepared for a "Lids-Down!" command by the teacher at any time. When "Lids-Down!" is called, you must immediately close your laptop and give your attention to the teacher.
  9. And remember... I know how fast you are with your computer! Attempts at hiding what you are doing will be treated the same as regular offenses.
